Herbal Remedies: Cardamom Tea

I was introduced to cardamom tea almost two years ago. I think it was the best thing that ever happened to me. In the beginning I was drinking it just because it tasted delicious!

Then one day I had a horrible menstrual cycle and next thing you know the pain went away! It didn’t stop there I noticed another time when I had a horrible headache that after I drank the tea my headache was gone! Hold on a second I’m still NOT DONE, I was dealing with constipation, yes! All backed up had a cup of tea and boom!! Went to the toilet without a problem. So then I decided let me look this cardamom up and see what the deal is. Did you know that 8% of your daily fiber can come from 1-2 tablespoons of cardamom? Has iron and magnesium so it’s good for bones, oxygen and blood. It helps to fight cancer cells and stunts the growth of new ones HELLO!! It’s good stuff. Now moving on I add turmeric to my tea. It has a ton of health benefits too. My most cherished is the how much it helps with inflammation.

Here are 10 Benefits of Tumeric:

  1. It gradually increases antioxidants.
  2. Can help control Diabetes.
  3. Helps to lower cholesterol.
  4. Might prevent and treat cancer.
  5. Can help prevent and treat Alzheimer’s.
  6. Can treat skin conditions (be careful because the color will stain temporarily)
  7. Can help with Depression.
  8. Can treat gastrointestinal conditions.
  9. Can help relieve Arthritis.
  10. Can help control Weight

Mixing them has really helped with pain. Seeing how I just had a partial hysterectomy a week ago and I literally drank a glass this morning when I felt some minor pain and it went away I feel great! So now I want to share with you my recipe:

Golden Milk:

1 tablespoon of tumeric

1-2 teaspoons of Dry Milk

1 DO GHAZAL tea bag

2 cinnamon sticks

Honey to sweeten

(You can also drop 2-3 cardamom seeds if you want a bold flavor)

Add 16 oz of water to teapot. Add two cinnamon sticks, tumeric, (if your adding the seeds for flavor add them now) bring to a boil. In your coffee/tea mug add 1-2 teaspoons of dry milk. Once the water finishes boiling add the water to the milk and stir so that it doesn’t get lumpy then add your tea bag Let it steep 2-3 minutes add honey sweetened to your liking. Sit back and sip your aches and pains away and enjoy the delicious flavor on your palate. Interested in a box of this tea?
